Controversial figure in the American adult industry, Max Hardcore (born Paul F. Little) rose to notoriety in the 1990s and 2000s for directing and performing in extreme pornographic films that often courted legal and moral outrage. Known for his aggressive on-screen persona and disturbing role-play scenarios, he became a symbol of the boundaries — and excesses — of free expression in pornography. French photojournalist Yan Morvan documented Max in Los Angeles at the height of his infamy. The resulting images reveal a man who blurred the line between performance and pathology — and expose a raw, unsettling corner of the American cultural machine.
