[...] The news is a story devouring monster. Subjected to the laws of zapping and consumption, subjects must circulate very quickly, renew themselves, captivate viewers and readers. Television has won the battle of «it happened near you», who interests the vast majority of the public. There are still regional dailies that are read by the elderly, as if they were going to mass. On the other hand, the big news magazines, written in a cold, documented and thoughtful way, are no longer available in a weekly and monthly press that has run out of money to finance editors and photographers over the long term. Some try to do so at their own (mainly financial) and sometimes physical risk. The Christian dimension of the journalist who, at the risk of his life, seeks the truth is still a reality. Between missionary and daredevil, some try their hand at this discipline which is anything but a priesthood filled with good intentions. The editorialists who write about the world in their columns take their sources from social dinners or meetings that give them the impression of having understood everything except the reality on the ground. The ground is subject to the fog of war. It is difficult to know, at the fateful moment, from which gun the bullet that will kill him has fired.
