IPC stands for Independent Paper Consortium.
It's a syndicate of independent publishers, a group of artists, an independent company that publishes, distributes, and organises events — a gathering of wonderers who believe in the force of an independent structure and platform to share, in fair and sustainable ways, the fruit of their research, findings, and productions.
We know we live in a corrupted world — and by all means necessary, we aim to stay true to our spirit. We aim to build a sane, critical & experimental network of independent minds that operates in the field of publishing, printed matter, and all types of publications — and more largely, in all forms of art, expression and situation.
From archives, bootlegs and samples to creations, reinterpretations and urgent collaborations, we do not limit ourselves to any style or pose.
It is our duty to stand true to the voices we choose to present and/or defend — but also to remain open to surprises, inquiries, and critique.
We believe this openness creates a virtuous cycle of discussion and reflection that keeps our own propositions alive and relevant.

We Also Run a Festival
INDEPENDENT PAPER FESTIVAL is our independent, itinerant, and formless gathering.
It’s a situational and site-specific event, showcasing a wide variety of IPC and affiliated publications, alongside a curated selection of others we admire.
We are open to proposals — feel free to reach out if you want to collaborate or host something.

Self-distribution is at the heart of true independence.
Nobody stands between us and what we propose to you.
It makes the organisation more resilient and direct, even if it requires time, sacrifice, and more effort. We believe the current book distribution system tends to mainstream the publishing industry, serving mostly large publishing houses with the capital to absorb production costs.
The widespread deposit and percentage model used by many shops doesn’t reflect the effective reality of our independent production.
Each of our projects has its own cost, input, and rhythm — we don’t normalize rates or force standard margins. On the other hand, we don’t want our publications to die on a shelf. Circulation is key.

To support circulation and reduce waste, our shop includes automatic quantity discounts when ordering multiple copies of the same item.
*This is the average grid we use — it may shift slightly depending on the item, available stock, or the context.
During special sales, seasonal moments, or for certain limited editions, rates may adapt accordingly.
No codes needed — discounts are calculated automatically at checkout.
This is our way of encouraging sharing, spreading, and supporting our work and duty.
We don’t control all the shipping process.
But we always aim for the best option we can afford and access — balancing cost, speed, and reliability.
We trust in your patience and understanding, and we promise to always be sincere in trying to provide the most effective way to get your orders to you. Please consider checking if there’s an affiliated bookshop or independent space near you before ordering online.
This helps reduce shipping costs and supports our friends in action — and you might even meet some good people on the way :)
Of course, we are happy to send you special orders directly from our distribution center in Paris, anywhere in the world.
Pick-up in Paris is also available.
